The bars of my prison.

Snow began Friday mid afternoon. Here it is Tues mid afternoon and the mile long road between me and the closest "primary" road is still covered in three inches of packed ice. No idea why DOT can't get the ice off, but they have been by multiple times to no effect. Stuck in the house with a rear wheel drive squirrel - hub took the 4 wheel drive Jeep and left town. I. am. slowly. going. crazy. 1.2.3.4.5.6.switch - crazy.going.slowly.am.I.6.5.4.3.2.1.switch...

The bars are forked. Is there a metaphor here? Have the gates of hell frozen over?

At least the sun's shining there. I'm beginning to get a little stir crazy up here under all this cloud cover. It starts to feel like you're slowly being smothered after a few weeks.

Oh, well. It's only a few more weeks.

This is why I have to have a 4WD car here... we get so much snow and I work at home. If I can't go somewhere every day I start to go bonkers... heh.

That looks like good cooking and baking weather. A pot of chili and lots of cookies. I'd stuff myself into a comatose state and wouldn't have to worry about the weather.

believe me the drive was strong - homemade potato soup with cheese, cranberry pistachio cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies - things I like to cook when it snows. I'm trying to lose weight - none of the above were cooked :(

oh yeah, and normally around here - when we get snow it is all gone the next day, 2 days later at the latest. Last snow was still on the ground 2 weeks later, this one is already four days old and the ground is still completely covered... in several inches.

Where is that freakin' Algore - I've got some things I want to "say" to him...

  8. pamibe Says:

I know it can drive you nuts... but it's just so danged pretty...!

  9. Don Says:

If I see Algore I'll be sure to kick him for you.

  10. Teresa Says:

Are you sure Algore isn't sneaking around your neighborhood!!! I think you have gotten more snow than we have this year! It's been cold, but the snow hasn't been here. Weird.

    I wanna strangle that dude!

And we're bitching because it's been dreary, cloudy, damp. I guess because I grew up in that snow/ice thing I'm convinced I will NEVER live in that again. I also lived in Seattle and hated the gray. We're getting gray here and it's driving everyone with thinned-blood from having lived in Texas for awhile semi-mad.

    That forked icicle is eerie.

So funny -- all the snow people are sick of the white and the cold and I'm sick of the green blah blah green blah blah humid blah blah humid. Heh.
