In my continuing series of endorsements for current members of congress I add to the list congress woman Virginia Foxx (R) of Winston Salem, NC




Right on the money with her first statement. The second statement is causing a rucus. But I believe she is correct.

Many people are making what I feel is a fatal mistake in focusing on the cost of the health care reform bill as it is likely to be passed. People cannot conceive of the scope of this much spending - it is so far beyond anything we can comprehend that to argue the point is meaningless. Our focus should be on the damage it will cause to our lives and freedoms which will far outstrip the financial burden alone. US citizens take our health care wealth so for granted that a huge percentage of us are blind to the fact that it is all about to be taken from us.

We need women like this standing in the breech. Unafraid to "speak truth to power" as the trite saying goes.

Doing a happy dance for you! And I hope those stupid democrats keep right on telling themselves this is not a referendum on congress and the O. That way we'll get rid of even more of them next year!

Just picked up a Wii fit for myself with birthday money (birthday was in Aug).

My son will not let me play, he's having too much fun with it. Something about dressing like a chicken and flapping your arms, or was it dressing like a penguin and eating fish...

It told me I'm fat - fact - that is all, stab. I don't make a good Laura, do I.

Update - is it bad when your Wii me is always hanging her head in shame after an activity?

I've just discovered that Gus is bilingual!

See it's like this, any time I say "what is it" both Gus and Fiona start barking and running between the windowed back door and the window in the family room. Bark, look at mom, bark, look at mom... same reaction if I say "Squirrel!"

So just now Gus was making his usual "I want something" vocalisations... being a corgi, he has all sorts of vocalisations, not just barking.

I looked at him and asked "Qu'est-ce que c'est?"

He started barking as though I had asked in English... but not Fiona, she is not bilingual.



Funny, n'est pas?

Now is the time folks, call those representatives every day - they will ram this shit down our throats - but let's make sure we are drug kicking and screaming every inch of the way...
